There are very few sanctuaries devoted only to the conservation of birds. Salim Ali bird sanctuary is one of them, located in South-India.

It is a paradise of birds and heaven for bird lovers. The cacophony of nature is amazing and I was personally blown away by the variety of music from the nature. Away from the trucks,  away from bustling traffic. This haven for birds is named after a famous ornithologist in India.

There are  marked trails in the area. It is located in the valley under Western Ghats with adjoining lake and a rich canopy.

I wasn’t prepared for the beauty of the place, and I vow to go back pretty soon. This is an Asian paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone paradisi)

Location: Salim Ali bird sanctuary, Kerala, India.
