The gopuram of a magnificent temple dedicated to Vishnu. The tower of this temple rises 192 feet high and is the official symbol of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

It is said to have been built by Periyaazhvaar some 1000 years ago. It is also among the 108 sacred abodes of Vishnu. This is my third time visit here, and for the first time, I got to see the tower in all its glory, as the other two times, the tower was covered because of painting and maintenance.
